This unit covered testing and assessment and the many scenarios in which it is used. Tests are used to measure progress and evaluate student placement. These are very helpful in not only understanding students progress, but can also help in the development of future lessons. Other tests taken outside the class are used to determine one's overall understanding of the language, to determine if they are ready to pursue work in the field or life in an English speaking environment.
