This unit has clearly shown the differences between receptive and productive skills. It shows the reasons why people would use receptive skills, how people would use receptive skills, the problem people have with receptive skills, and how to teach receptive skills effectively. The format of teaching chose is a patchwork format, and through the breakdown of the various Engage-Study-Activate stages, I am now able to see how receptive skills can be taught methodically to learners.
