Tests are a fantastic tool to use to gauge your students' progress in the classroom and throughout the course. Many different kinds of tests should be given to students, such as, "placement tests" at the beginning of the year to help place your students into the correct class and level ability. Progress Tests should be given regularly to see if the students have been remembering the acquired language and vocabulary. Students should also be encouraged to take external tests, such as, TOEFL and TOEIC tests. Students should not feel anxious or intimidated by tests, but instead, should view them as a necessary tool towards progress.
