I do not recall ever before having any formal or informal instruction on the specifics of pronunciation, and I had no idea that there was so much to learn. The mind boggles when I think about teaching some of this material to non-native speakers of English, although I recognize its importance. The information included in this lesson was very interesting for me, but I think the most helpful part for foreign speakers was about how to functionally teach pronunciation - i.e., with diagrams, modeling, and tongue twisters. Perhaps some of the information about different kinds of sounds in English (palatal vs. dental vs. glottal etc.) would be helpful too. I suspect that issues with stress, rise and fall, etc. will be learned or corrected automatically with enough exposure and practice.
