This unit dealt with the fundamentals of authentic and created material. There are two types of materials that can be used with students. This would include various types of media such as written materials, videos, audio recordings, pictures and even conversation. These media sources are grouped into two categories, authentic materials, which involve observation of native speakers and created materials which are designed specifically for teaching English as a second language.
