Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

The last Unit is all about Troubleshooting a teacher EFL can possibly encounter once they start teaching and on how to deal with this. There are two types of lesson a teacher will be facing in a first lesson, the New group refers to students who don't know each other and unfamiliar with EFL methodologies, some some work will be needed to establish rapport and the Existing group which is opposite of the new group.I think it is always better that a teacher will try to use activities than coursebook at a first lesson to be able to achieve rapport between students and between teacher and the class,to know more about the students for planning future lessons, find out students needs in English and finding out English level of each Individual lass member.Activities a teacher could use for this are questionnaire/survey,pass the ball game and needs analysis tackled in the previous unit.Teacher also use what they call "Warmers" which is used to get students motivated and use English so this should be short, fun and communicative.Examples of warmers are Hangman,Pictionary,Tongue twisters and Memory games.Problems that teachers usually encounter in teaching EFL are students different level because if this some students may learn more quickly than others and in class, ways to deal with this can be the use of different materials by dividing students groups and giving them materials based on their levels,Don't do anything means some teacher let each students find his/her own level within a class or pair stronger students with weaker ones, this is a strategy used by many teachers but care must be taken to not let the stronger students dominate them and the weaker students are more than onlookers.Another problem is handling large classes,to create a successful class a teacher should consider worksheets, pair work/group work, the clarity of voice, choral repetition, appoint group leaders and Dynamics. The use of Native language is another issue as discussed in the previous unit, this can be problematic i monolingual class but in this issue a teacher job is to have the students practicing and improving their English Language skills,a teacher can consider to make sure the activities you use are at appropriate level, make sure your explanations are clear to all students, encourage the use of English were appropriate, only respond to English an constantly remind and encourage students to get used to using English in the classroom. The reluctant students are always present in a classroom because it may be because of cultural, intimidation or confidence issue, useful ideas can be used such as,having plenty of pair work, controlled practice,role-play and the use of a tape recorder for students outside the classroom and let their teacher listen and do corrections afterwards. The difficulties with listening texts is a problem to student of nearly every nationality, teachers should work with students to help improve their listening skills so teachers have to make sure that it is indeed a problem with the listening skill not just a system problem.Lastly,in a classroom some students finished tasks given by their teacher quickly so as a teacher it is important to always prepare other activities for the same material to avoid students boredom,a word searches are effective on this issue. As a conclusion to all the units of this course I have learnt that though both students and teacher have their roles to improve and help improve the English skill.A teacher role is vital to help students have a great motivation in continuing the English studies and so teachers should not just be aware of the system, process and lessons teaching the English language but as well as being aware of students needs and wants depending on their levels of English.
