In this unit we study and learn about productive skills. First we look at speaking and ask the question
" why do we communicate?" and the answer is mainly for two reasons : for leisure purposes or to express a need, a desire. From there we view suggestions as to what are some of the more positive ways to encourage speaking activities amongst the students. In the second part of the unit we learn about writing why it is important and what to consider when teaching a lesson such as cultural sensitivities, habits(do the students write from right to left in their country, etc,...). We also learn about context/situalisation as in writing a postcard, a letter of application or an email - in which written documents must respect the different contexts - formal, informal.
