This unit not only gave me a good understanding of focusing my lessons towards specific skills in language understanding, but it also gave me an understanding of techniques and lesson planning ideas I could use in my lesson designs. Furthermore, it gave me a greater understanding of how to design lessons. For example, the unit states that using a Patchwork Lesson Plan is the best form of lesson design for focusing on the receptive skills needed in language acquisition and development.
