This unit dealt with the four different types of tests and testing when teaching a foreign language. Those discussed include diagnostic and placement tests, progress testing, and practice tests. Each of these test types feature a range assessment purposes. There are also a number of ways to develop and assess these testing materials. Also mentioned is the necessity of ascertaining information about the group to be tested such as age, proficiency, and learning styles of the group.
