This unit was about the receptive skills of reading and listening. In order to foster success in comprehension there are suggestions such as introducing new vocabulary before exposure to new text through reading or listening. Having a variety of topics is important so that all students will find some of the material of interest. There different ways people read information based on what their needs are from the text. One might skim for specific information in one instance while in another such as studying for a test, close attention must be paid to the details.
