Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

The unit begins discussing the differing opinions on course books by teachers and then dives into how teacher created materials can be more interesting to the students. This section builds on this subject by talking about the two types of teacher created materials being authentic (newspapers, radio broadcasts, restaurant menus, etc) and their benefits (they are real and more interesting and motivating, can be more geared to the interests of the students, can help build confidence in students) versus created materials (crosswords, word searches, flashcards, gap fill exercises, etc) and their benefits (graded to level of students, appropriate supplemental material for the course book, etc). After example activities, the unit began covering course books, their advantages (set syllabus that has been tested, continual practice of already introduced language concepts, good ideas for inexperienced teachers, etc) as well as their disadvantages (books do not always meet interests/needs of students, predictability, and that books are created for a general audience of language learners and not geared towards whatever specific nationality of students being taught, etc). Then the unit discussed the best use of course books (do not use course book for the entirety of a lesson, select book items that will interest students the most, etc) as well as tips for using the course book (omitting, replacing, adapting and supplementing material). Finally the unit concluded by going over proper ways for a teacher to analyze a course book if they have the luxury of being able to select their own (Price, availability, difficulty, methodology, syllabus, teacher's guide, etc).
