This unit required watching two different lessons of English instruction (from video). In the first video, we were able to see what happens when a teacher is not encouraging, does not give clear instructions, does not build rapport with students, and does not model activities. The students end up confused and not as successful in learning the material. In the second video, the instructor was friendly and engaged students before learning. They were able to practice in an effective way and could participate in a way that led to greater success of learning objectives due to how he taught and interacted with students. It is clear that a teacher has much control over learning outcomes based on the environment he/she creates in a classroom.
