The future tenses were the hardest for me to conceptualize and explain despite being a native speaker. This unit helped me to place a name to each of the future tenses that I use everyday. I learned each type of future tense and how they differ from each other. There are some similarities between their uses with sometimes only minor differences. For example, the future simple and 'going-to' future both make predictions, but the future simple predictions are made with no present evidence while the 'going-to' future predictions are. This unit taught me the affirmative, negative and question forms of all of the future tenses as well as some common mistakes made by ESL students.
