This unit was helpful because it gave me a basis on the types of assessments used in language classes. Although I have previous teaching experience and am familiar with how to assess students as well as which types of tests to use, this was unit was still very beneficial. To gain basic review of which type of assessments to implement and at which time in the course was very helpful to me. The test categories that are specific to language assessment was a newly introduced concept for me and is important to know in order to understand what level my future students are at as well as what kinds of certifications are available for language courses.
