This unit included many specific rules of and definitions found in English grammar that as a native English speaking person one may not realize the specifics of our language. We naturally hear, understand, write, and speak without being able to explain that one just used a gerund, personal pronoun, transitive verb, indefinite article, or an uncountable noun. It's a bit overwhelming to look at the English language in such detail, and I would think it would be similar to explaining to a professional pianist that he must learn to build a piano himself. I want to challenge myself to be a better speaker and writer as I learn the specifics of what I will be teaching.
