This unit covers grammar essentials in building sentences which are modal auxiliary verbs, passive voice, phrasal verbs and relative clause. There are basic rules in using modal auxiliary verbs depending on what idea you want to express and the degree of certainty, possibility and necessity. Passive voice have different formations based on the original tense of the sentence.Relative clause is one of the three categories of clauses and it has two types, defining and non-defining, both are introduced by relative pronouns and separated by commas depending on the idea the user wants to imply. Phrasal verb has three types, intransitive, transitive separable and transitive inseparable. All of these three types have certain placement of the object phrase/noun/pronoun used in the sentence.
