I learnt that the past isn't different from the present tenses except that past tenses relate to past time periods. In the past simple we add (ed) to the base of regular verbs and did not or didn't to the base form in the negative form of regular verb whiles past perfect is past in the pastand past continuous is sub+had+been+verb+ ing.and with the irregular forms there is no rule to forming them students needs to learn them eg.see-saw, do- did.etc.
