The unit 10 presents videos of two different EFL lessons. The students are confused and intimidated in the first lesson. They don't participate effectively because the teacher says the material is very easy and that anyone can do it, he doesn't know student's names, he reads a book during Activate phase etc. These are the reasons why students feel reluctant to participate. In contrast, the second lesson is well organized and the teacher is friendly and smiling. The Engage, Study and Activate phases are effective because they involve all students and encourage them to participate.
