Unit 1 was a discussion on teachers and learners. From this unit, I learned the characteristics of a good teacher and the important roles he/she plays in the learning process. In addition, I also learned the characteristics of a good learner and the factors that affects his/her desire, motivation, and ability to learn. In terms of language studies, in particular, I learned the common language levels used to classify learners based on their language aptitude. On a more personal note, I realized that it takes a good teacher to be able to produce a good learner. On the other hand, a good learner could also inspire an already good teacher to be even better at his/her job.
