As a new teacher to students whose second language is English, I am still in the learning phase of how to help my students. I do testing using all four of the basic skills on a weekly basis to check on their progress and do find this helpful for them and myself. I am familiar with a few of the general external examinations but am being educated now on pages 8 and 9 of the tests such as TOIEC, Esol, BEC etc.
