The unit focuses on troubleshooting common problems and situations in EFL teaching. It identifies the category of students an EFL teacher will come across in his/her first lesson - a new set of students that are not known to one another and students who already know one another. The unit identifies activities the teacher can use in other to create rapport among the students and the teacher, such as questionnaire/survey, ‘tell us about’, pass the ball game etc. I have learnt from the unit the importance of using ‘warmer’ to get students motivated and ready for the lesson. I also learn some strategies to cope with large classes such as the use of worksheets, pair/group work.
