Both Receptive and Productive skills are to be well integrated within the teaching patters and plans. They definitely go hand in hand and can provide a thorough understanding if planned and delivered properly. I see both writing and speaking as being equally important skills to have. Managing classroom time with students and being able to engage with them properly on the writing aspect would also help boost their confidence.
