Upon completion of this unit I am now aware that there are many kinds of tests available for English learners to take. I was already familiar with the TOEFL test because many of my South Korean friends studying in America have taken it. From my understanding the current English education in Korea is not sufficient enough in order for them to pass such a difficult exam. They poured hours into studying the language and still only passed with bare minimum scores to get into universities. In general I do not like the idea of testing, but I know that it does serve a purpose - teachers and students are able to see progress/data. However, I hope to not make passing a test the goal within my future class, but rather just focus on using the language itself.
