One thing this course has taught me is that there is no right or wrong when it come to teaching. There are of course basic rules we should all follow but it is also important to stay true to ourselves and make the most of our personal qualities.
For example, I consider myself to be an extremely organised person, therefore things like making sure the blackboard is clean or that the classroom is properly set up, will come naturally to me.
As well as exploiting one’s qualities it is vital to be aware of one’s weaknesses. Somewhere I know I will struggle with will be at allocating the appropriate time for each activity, but only teaching experience will improve my time management.
The bottom line is that the growth of your students is important but so is your own as a teacher.
