Unit 11 teaches the importance of the receptive skills (reading and listening) and how to effectively teach them to classes of all levels. I learned the importance of creating interest in the carefully-selected texts for classes to read, and the difference between non-authentic and authentic texts. It's important to tailor my lessons to suit the students needs and current abilities and create interest by using a variety of topics and comprehension activities.
