In this unit we learn the introduction of new language and how ESA methods can encourage understanding of the meaning and construction of the new language. We are introduced to the characteristics of language needed when selecting which new forms to introduce and what the students must learn about the knew language in order for it to be put into productive use.Through the use of straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork lessons, teachers can introduce students to grammatical structures and language forms, which play an important role in reinforcing active productive use of the language.
