As any other unit of this course, no information detailed here can be ignored. There is a lot that I have learnt about receptive skills; reading and listening, that I would have otherwise taught without taking them into consideration. I have learnt that there are many reasons why people read or listen. I have used these reasons before but without the knowledge that they are taught anywhere. This has given me an insight of why it is very important to write or speak correctly and incorporate humour since I may not know who may read or listen to my work, how and why they may choose to do so. Thus, this has been a very special unit for me.
