Previous units have taught me the importance of being aware of the culture and local language of your students. I am well aware for example (as China will be my target market) that in Mandarin, the form of a verb never changes regardless of whether it is present, past or future tense. I think we can all agree that explaining the different English tenses to a Chinese student can be somewhat challenging.
In this unit I particularly found helpful learning about the most common mistakes English learners make and I took note of several very interesting ideas for fun activities to practice the present tenses.
