Testing is important for teachers to see how much they retain and understand. Without testing, you will be unsure as to how much they are learning and unsure as to what you as a teacher needs to improve or focus on. Tests need to test a variety of aspects: listening, reading, writing and listening. There are a variety of test which is given at different times throughout a course and must be given at appropriate times. They must have a purpose and be clear to the students. The purpose isn't to make the test hard but to measure what the students understand. There should be a time of reflection following the test so that the student can learn what they did right and wrong.
