This module covered different ways of teaching pronunciation to students of English, through the study of phonology. The three physical properties of sounds are stress, rhythm, and intonation. All should be practiced by students of English. Intonation is the variation of pitch during a sentence, and can effect the meaning of a sentence without changing the words themselves. Similarly, putting stress on different syllables of a sentence can alter its meaning depending on the situation.
