Unit Six presented the 4 forms of past tense: simple, perfect, continuous and perfect continuous. Simple past tense is formed by adding -ed to most verbs, however some verbs have irregular past tense forms which have to be memorized. (I walked home.) Past Perfect is formed by adding "had" to the verb past participle. (I had walked home.) Past Continuous is formed by adding "were" or "was" to the base verb with -ing as an ending. ( I was walking home.) Finally, Past Perfect Continuous is formed by adding "had been" to the base verb with -ing as an ending. (I had been walking home.)
