In this unit two of four main skills was learnt, they are receptive skills – reading and listening. There are two motives for reading and listening: for purpose and for entertainment. For a better understanding of listening or reading task, a student can use predictive skills, scans the text for specific information, gets the general understanding with skimming, concentrate on details or deduce the meaning of certain words.
