In this unit we watched 2 videos of the same lesson being taught. One was an example of a bad lesson, and the other was an example of a good lesson. The first video was the bad lesson. The teacher engaged poorly with the class, and did not show them respect. He grew visibly frustrated with the student when they did not understand, and openly blamed them for their lack of understand even though he was not taking the time to explain things properly. In the second lesson, the teacher places the emphasis on student engagement, making sure all students are connecting with the learning material and creating a good rapport. As a result, the second lesson is much more successful than the first.
