These two videos were great examples of how the teacher taught a lesson. The first video demonstrated how the teacher's attitude affected the whole atmosphere of the class. Students were uncomfortable and found it very hard to participate in the lesson because they didn't understand the concept. They were intimidated by the teacher and did not feel successful. The second video demonstrated how the teacher changed his attitude from the beginning of the class and was more personable by learning their names and including everyone. This made the students feel comfortable. Then he proceeded to teach the concept. He used visual aides, role modeled, gave examples and gave students multiple opportunities to share in the class. Students worked together in pairs and participated actively in the lesson. The teacher gave praise to the students who did well and kindly corrected mistakes when needed.
