This unit is very helpful in recognizing the importance of reading and listening. Hearing the English language and reading the language are two very different things. Showing the students an excerpt from a movie and then discussing what they just heard and saw would be a great lesson. It would get the students involved and hopefully engaged in the lesson. Finding topics that are of interest to all students is key in this scenario. For example, in China my students loved NBA basketball. Creating a lesson plan around an NBA game would be a wonderful idea.
