This unit presented practical observation opportunities of two very different lessons conducted with the same teacher and pupils. There was no theoretical component. The two scenarios contrasted markedly, due to the teachers manner, organisation, preparation as well as lesson structure and content. The response was clearly much more positive in the second class, with pupils and teacher laughing together, and enjoying the learning. The teachers awkward language and gestures in the first lesson did not help students engage and learn. Transfer of learning was clearly very influenced by the skill of the teacher. A pleasant change in format, that I enjoyed too.
