In my personal opinion most of the methodologies presented during the unit can support English learning depending on the level of proficiency of the students, as well as the aim of each particular class. Sometimes, in specific contexts drilling could be OK. The key, I guess is to reflect on the “when is it appropriate” to use a technique or another. If we look at the ESA it is a structure that allows different strategies or techniques to be used.
I liked very much the different examples of activities that can be carried on in each stage. I would love to see how can we adapt some of them to different levels of proficiency.
