This unit provides an overview of effective lesson planning. It summarizes the main reasons lesson planning is important, and stresses that lesson planning does not constitute a script or rigid structure that the teacher must follow. It goes on to describe the purpose of each part of a lesson plan, and provides a helpful sample lesson plan which follows the ESA Straight Arrow methodology.
