This unit helped categorize the various assessment and evaluation methods - how and when these need to be performed: at course commencement; periodically throughout the course; or on course completion as way of final learning evaluation. Of benefit to teachers is using testing to gauge students placement in class, their level of language ability and the progression of an individuals learning. It was helpful to make connections as to where such testing can be used by students eg: General extensive examinations for national or international status or qualification.
