In Unit 11 I learned that there are essentially four major skills that can be developed in any language: reading, listening - which are receptive skills; and speaking and writing - which are productive skills. It's important as a teacher to understand that each of these elements is vital to the student and a proper understanding of how to implement them is needed. For instance, one would need to use topics that the students find interesting to engage them in learning. Additionally, one would need to pre-teach vocabulary that the students would find difficult to learn. Thank you.
