This unit discussed the importance of evaluation and testing. Evaluating students is important as it provides the ability to monitor the progress of the class as a whole and also the progress of individual students. Evaluation allows the instructor to adjust the course plan to better fit the level and pace of the students. The unit also reviewed the different forms of testing which can be used throughout a course from the initial tests, or placement tests, to tests which can be taken at the end of the course through an external provider.
