After reading this unit, I learned a lot about conditionals and reported speech. First of all, I didn't remember learning about conditionals in school because it was so long ago. So I learned the the names of the conditionals and the rules that apply to them. I also didn't know the exact rules for reported speech. I just knew how to naturally speak as a native English speaker, but the rules chart on page 6 provided a lot of insight on how to correctly use reported speech. I also found that some people do not report speech correctly according to the chart, and I have made that mistake before too. I can definitely see where students can have trouble especially if English is not their native language. I also really liked the great teaching ideas for such a complex subject. For example, I thought the "complete the conditional" and the "nuclear bunker role play were great teaching ideas for conditionals, and I thought that "intermediaries" and "media interviews" were some fun ideas that students would enjoy. Overall, this unit was very informative.
