This was the most interesting and informative unit yet. Most of it was new to me and here I was once upon a time using phonetics in a classroom - as well when teaching my own children at home! My knowledge of pronunciation and phonology has increased 100%. I don't remember covering this in such depth at University, Teachers College or even block courses on teaching children with learning difficulties. I have also learned how to use a dictionary! Having been introduced to an international alphabet - where has this been all my life? The poem by George Bernard Shaw has been pinned to my wall alongside my new alphabet which I will need to commit to memory.
