Unit 14 focused on the course book and lesson materials aspect of teaching. It highlighted the two different categories of materials, authentic or created. Authentic materials are those used in the native language such as, songs or menus, while created materials are those created by the instructor as a way to adjust the materials provided by the course. The unit also focuses on the use of a course book in the classroom and how it should not be used as a strict format, but as a tool that guides the instructor while they also include their own materials.
