Prior to this unit, I didn't know the official term for receptive skills and productive skills. I only knew about reading, writing, listening and speaking; I didn't really classify them. Now that I am aware of these skills, I can now approach lessons planning differently, when I plan classes according to receptive skills. I can avoid planning things that will produce an unmotivated or otherwise "bad lesson plan". Also reflecting on myself on my person Japanese language learning, I realized that early on in my Japanese learning, I would try to read more difficult level Japanese texts, which often ended in my frustration in the language, that being said with the lessons learned in this unit and my own personal experience, I can produce receptive skills themed lessons more effectively now.
