I've learned that the past tense concept in English inst that extensive and hard to grasp. It was interesting to me to know that a lot of the concepts learned earlier about present tenses transfer to what we learned here in the past tense unit. I learned that to be able to identify things properly you just need to identify the structure of the sentence and how the parts of speach are used with one another.
