I enjoyed this section and personally feel it is needed and that I will have to practice it more. Clear pronunciation is a must for clearly conveying meaning. The phonetic alphabet is something I have never encountered, so I will need to give it more attention so I can effectively use it as a teaching tool. I can also see why teachers would shy away from giving pronunciation proper attention, it is difficult and may even require giving individual student attention. I liked the ideas for teaching it. I think teaching drills and having funny tongue twister activities to practice would be a great way to positively encourage practice with a subject that will be difficult to do. I think students could be self conscious about it, so adding humor and providing positive support and good drills is a must.
