This unit has posed a huge challenge, as I have never looked at pronunciation in quite this way before. It seems that the teachers need to learn as much as the students!! Phonology is a whole new ball game! I have asked many native speakers how they cope with English grammar, most of them have little idea of the English grammatical system, but just speak it. A young man I asked that question of this morning, said: "That's not my field!" So I conclude that it is another steep learning curve in the process of language education!
