A good teacher is someone that is able to leave great long-lasting impacts on students’ lives. A teacher should love teaching and not the salary. If a teacher do not loves teaching then he/she will be frustrated over the simplest of things. In the unit, they spoke about qualities of a good teacher or what makes a good teacher. A good teacher should be fair, have good knowledge of the content, should be able to involve all students equally throughout the lessons, should be patient, and more can be added to the list. I believe that a teacher should love what they do, have patient with students so that students will be comfortable in the class, and should know the content of the subject so that the students will not learn any wrong content. Any content that students learn at first, that is what they will stick with throughout the rest of their lives so as a teacher; one should ensure that one he/she teaches the right content. A good student should also be willing to learn because that will allow them to do whatever it takes to learn the new language, for example, use applications or technologies to experiment what is being taught in class. Teachers should be able to facilitate learning and play different roles in the classroom such as being a manager, organizer, assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, resource or facilitator, model and observer or monitor. Different language levels and how they are categorized can make a teacher know how to be prepared for each level of students. The beginners do not have any knowledge about the language they are trying to learn; they cannot speak anything at all. Elementary students have basic knowledge and can form simple sentences. Pre-Intermediate students can speaker greater variety than the elementary students but they still do not have fluency. Intermediate students are to understand and communicate but still lacking fluency. Upper- Intermediate students may be able to communicate on all topics but lacking accuracy. The advanced students should have a good knowledge of the English language and is ready to learn more delicate language items. Learners attend classes because of different reasons and the older the learner gets, the more motivated he/she become. Young learners are usually motivated because of their parents or it is the norm, but the adults find their own motivation to attend classes. Some examples may be because persons want to create international business, persons want to travel, or want to study in an English speaking country. The quality of students will solely depend on the teachers attitude and characteristics displayed in the classroom.
