In this unit, the future tenses were explained. What complicates this category of tenses is that some present tenses can also be counted as future tenses. A sentence may be in present form but have a future application. For example, "I am going downtown next week ". In this sentence, the phrase, "I am going" is in present tense, but since the action will be executed in the future, it's categorized as "present tense with future application ".
